Training
Schooling is free and compulsory between 5 and 16 years.
The school is built on a British pattern with seven-year
primary school and five or seven-year secondary school. At
the post-secondary level there is a teacher's college, a
technical college and a branch of the University of the West
Indies. The state has invested heavily in education. In
2005, the education sector accounted for about 10% of the
state budget. The level of education is high compared to
most countries in the region. Almost the entire population
