Training
Schooling is compulsory and free of charge from 6 to 14
years of age. The primary school is 6 years old. Entry to
the secondary school, which is 7-8 years old and to a large
extent private and fee-based, takes place through the degree
at the end of year 6 of the primary school. Almost 100
percent of children attend school between the ages of 6 and
15. See TOPSCHOOLSINTHEUSA for TOEFL, ACT, SAT testing locations and high school codes in Tonga.

Tonga did not have its own university for a long time,
but the University of the South Pacific at Fiji has a branch
in the country. In 2018, one of the country's churches
started Christ's University. In addition, there are advanced
vocational training institutes, including a teacher's
college. For its educational system, Tonga is highly
dependent on external financial assistance.
