Sri Lanka has something for everyone. In our travel proposal you can look forward to hikes through lush tea plantations up on the misty mountain Knuckles. Step on a bicycle along the gravel roads in the rural villages. Go rafting on Kelani and let the adrenaline flow. You live in wonderful environments and combine the activities with a few days on Bentota beach. And to really let all the everyday stress go, you have five relaxing days in the Maldives with experiences both above and below the water.

Day 1: Departure from Scandinavia

Day 2: Arrival at Colombo Airport Sri Lanka is one of the most beautiful countries in this part of Asia, with a truly charming population. On arrival you will be welcomed by our representative from “Go Beyond” and travel to Negombo, about 20 minutes from the airport. After checking in and relaxing for a while, we offer a city tour. During the journey of discovery you can see temples and churches, as well as explore the traces of the Dutch colonial era. You can also enjoy the atmosphere of the lively fish market and bazaar.

Day 3: Negombo – Kandy

After breakfast and a cup of Sri Lankan coffee, it’s time to head to the stately mountains. On the way you can stop at Pinnawala’s elephant daycare and see when the magnificent animals bathe in the river. You then arrive in Kandy, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the afternoon, explore the beautiful city during a tour. You will see the lake and the holy temple which according to legend houses one of the Buddha’s teeth. Later in the evening, you are invited to experience the city’s cultural show with dancers moving to the sound of drums. The show is spiced with fireworks and a fire show. ( F )

Day 4: Kandy – hiking – Kandy

Today you will go out on the big blue with your breakfast. The goal is the Knuckels mountain range, which is wonderful to see when the peaks are covered in fog blankets and lush tea plantations. You will drive just under 50 kilometers, up to the starting point of your hike. From here, the hike goes through the low-growing forest, past spice fields and along tea plantations where women in colorful clothes greet you. If you are lucky, you can see deer, macaques and various lizard species. Before you steer the cow home, you can swim at a beautiful waterfall. You walk a distance of about 16 kilometers. ( F )

Day 5: Kandy – Kitulgala

After the active day, you start this morning at a leisurely pace. You can relax and taste one of the locally grown teas. Then you drive to Kitulgala and spend the night in one of the area’s simple eco lodges, where you get the feeling of being one with nature. Enjoy the afternoon and look forward to the dinner served at the lodge. ( F , M )

Day 6: Kitulgala – Rafting

Today you will get the adrenaline rush of your life as you paddle in the river currents. The trip is designed for the adventurous and you will feel the excitement when you parry the fighting current, but there is also plenty of time to enjoy nature and life along the river. The journey takes about four hours. You can relax and stay in the beautiful area in the afternoon. ( F , M )

Day 7: Kitulgala – Mountain bike / bike ride from Hatton to Kitulgala

Today you will find freedom on two wheels during your bike ride along gravel roads, next to clear green tea plantations and crooked mountain trails. You cycle through small rural villages and experience everyday life along the route. The distance is about 45 kilometers, ie six hours of cycling. ( F , M )

Day 8: Kitulgala – Bentota

From action-packed adventures in the mountains to sun and beach fun by the sea. After a week of all kinds of activities, it is now time to relax on the wonderfully spacious sandy beach of Bentota Beach. ( F )

Day 9: Bentota

Start the day at your own pace, for example with a dip in the inviting sea. Later in the day, a half-day river safari is arranged with beautiful surroundings and lush nature. ( F )

Day 10 Bentota – Airport – Maldives:

After breakfast, it’s time to head on to the Maldives. After arriving in Malé, you proceed directly by boat to the island of Thulusdhoo. Transfer is not included in the price, but is paid locally (approximately 60 USD round trip by speedboat and 6 USD round trip by local ferry). At Thulusdhoo you check in at the nice guesthouse where you enjoy nice warmth and beautiful sunset. If you arrive in the morning, you can take a snorkeling trip directly from the beach at the beautiful reef. Stop by the hotel’s activity center where you can get help planning your next day’s adventure with lots of exciting experiences. ( F )

Day 11-13: Thulusdhoo Island

You plan your activities based on what you enjoy most. In addition to the fantastic life underwater, there is also SUP, kayaking and much more to enjoy. You can also take a walk around the island. Here the atmosphere is cozy with small cafes and you can also visit a sea cucumber farm. If you just want to rest and take it easy, there is the beautiful beach right outside the door. ( F ) Your guesthouse on Thulusdhoo Island You live in a tasteful and cozy guesthouse with 14 rooms – most with balcony and sea view. All rooms have air conditioning, TV, private bathroom / toilet and a small refrigerator. Just outside the door is the chalk white beach, it is private so you can calmly sunbathe in a bikini.

Day 14: Departure from the Maldives

You leave the Maldives and return to Scandinavia via Colombo. ( F )
