Training
There are three different school forms in the Maldives: Koranic schools, Divehis schools and English-speaking schools. The latter also have a secondary level, while the former have less than five years of study. A very large proportion of children participate in lower-level education, but even though the number of secondary school pupils has grown sharply during the 1990s, it is still a minority who receive some education in addition.
