According to INDEXDOTCOM, Wyoming is located in the western United States, bordered by Montana to the north, South Dakota and Nebraska to the east, Colorado to the south, and Utah and Idaho to the west. It is known for its wide open plains and rugged mountain terrain. The Rocky Mountains dominate much of Wyoming’s eastern border, while the Continental Divide cuts through its center from north to south. Wyoming’s landscape also includes vast stretches of sagebrush-covered high desert in its southwest corner, vast forests in its northwest corner, and grasslands in between. The state also includes more than 10 National Parks and Monuments, including Yellowstone National Park. The University of Wyoming in Laramie is the state’s flagship university, offering bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in a variety of disciplines. Other four-year universities include Casper College, Eastern Wyoming College, Northwest College, and Western Wyoming Community College. Two-year colleges include Central Wyoming College and Sheridan College. All of these institutions offer a wide range of courses in the arts and sciences as well as vocational programs. Students can also benefit from internships and research opportunities through the University of Wyoming’s Office of Research and Economic Development.
