We all know how important it is to wear comfortable clothes and footwear for sports, not to interfere with our movements or blood circulation, to protect us from injury and from the sun, if it is an outdoor activity.
We are so aware, I find it surprising to see how little we care about choosing a bra or bra appropriate for sports.
The shape of the breasts depends entirely on their supports: ligaments and the tissue of the thorax on which they are supported, on one side and the skin that covers them on the other. So as you see, there is not much that we can do to keep them in good position. The only recipe is prevention.
When we do sport, the breasts are subject to much more movement. All the jumps, races, sudden movements produce oscillations and displacements that over time will leave our breasts fallen. That is why we must wear a good sports bra, able to cushion and hold the chest in place, avoiding jerks or overexertion of the delicate skin that covers them or the ligaments that support them.
One of the factors to consider when deciding on a bra is that not all sports have the same impact: yoga is not the same as riding. All sports with jumps and jerky movements should be considered high impact, while things like gymnastics, yoga, fast walking, are sports with medium or low impact.
Of course, it is very important to consider the size of the chest. There are sports bras that protect by compression, simply squeezing the chest against the body, while there are others by recollection, which wrap, detach and fasten without tightening. The former are more suitable for women with small and medium breasts, while the latter are more appropriate for those who have a lot of breasts.
